Prevent Metabolic Syndrome

To Prevent Metabolic Syndrome you need to take action to control each of the 5 individual factors.

Although the factors seem unrelated, they all respond to just two simple lifestyles changes.

If you have three of the following factors you are considered to have Metabolic Syndrome:

  • Increased blood pressure,
  • Increased triglicerides,
  • Decreased HDL,
  • High abdominal fat
  • Insulin resistance
  • Although age, genetic factors and race play some part in these factors, they are predominately caused by being overweight, lack of exercise and a processed fatty diet.

Exercising more, and eating a healthier diet will greatly reduce your chances of getting Metabolic Syndrome and therefore reduce your risk of a Heart Attack.

Just 30 minutes of moderate exercise each day can help with weight loss, lower your Blood Pressure, and help your body to regulate its blood sugar levels and cholesterol.

Your waist circumference is considered an important factor in Metabolic Syndrome

However that does not mean that you should concentrate on doing sit-ups or crunches to reduce your waist circumference.

Your waist measurement will naturally decrease as your overall weight decreases.

In some cases medication may be needed to control Blood Pressure, cholesterol or blood glucose levels, however even if medication is necessary, increased exercise and a healthier diet will mean that the dosage should be lower.

Reduce your risk of a heart attack - take these two simple steps now - Lose Weight and Exercise More.

It’s Your Heart. It’s Your Life.

    It’s Your Choice.
